DR. JEFFREY BORENSTEIN, Medical Director of CNS’Holliswood site (New York), embodies strong local commitment to progress in clinical research and the practice of neuro-behavioral medicine, as well as the development and vitality of professional organizations in Psychiatry.

In numerous peer-reviewed publications, Dr. Borenstein has furthered the understanding of the Alzheimer’s Disease across cognitive, functional, and behavioral realms, and has co-authored texts and manuals dedicated to the assessment, treatment, and phenomenology of this complex degenerative disorder. This academic expertise in Dementia is notably rounded by investigative experience in over 25 clinical trials across mood (Bipolar Disorder) and psychotic disorders (Childhood-Adolescent and Adult Schizophrenia).

As a well-known executive officer of multiple New York-area professional organizations (Queens County Psychiatry Society, New York State Psychiatric Association), Dr. Borenstein serves fellow physicians, while working to improve standards in quality for research and patient care (New York State Mental Health Services Council, HIP Quality Improvement Committee, Co-chair for Directors of Inpatient Psychiatry Committee, New York City Department of Mental Health, and New York Academy of Medicine Fellow). He is currently chairperson for the Section on Psychiatry at the New York Academy of Medicine. Board-certified in Psychiatry, Dr. Borenstein maintains licensure in New York, where his professional accomplish-ments have included serving as Attending Psychiatrist and Medical Director of the chemical dependency programs at Gracie Square Hospital, Executive Medical Director at The Regent Hospital, and Medical Director and Chief Executive Officer at Holliswood Hospital. Dr. Borenstein completed his scientific and medical education at Harvard College and the New York University School of Medicine.


Facility

The CNS Center in Holliswood (Queens, New York) is a well-equipped facility, providing examination rooms; double-locking, limited-access medication storage (room temperature, refrigerated and -20 degrees); draw/processing laboratory with dedicated sample storage units (room temperature, refrigerated, -20 and -70 degrees); ECG equipment; access to radiology facilities (X-ray, MRI, CT); emergency protocols (crash cart, local ER facilities); and high-speed Internet access to support Electronic Data Capture activities. Patients and monitors will also benefit from the Center’s convenient location (near LaGuardia and Kennedy airports, Grand Central Parkway and the Long Island Expressway) and dedicated monitor space with Internet connectivity. The site is located within the Holliswood Hospital, a large psychiatric hospital with 110 beds.
